Degree Programs

​

St. Thomas Aquinas University emphasizes the individual needs and goals of the degree candidate thus we offer traditional as well as highly specialized degrees in a wide range of fields and disciplines. Through our unique Certification Program we are able to custom tailor curricula to meet the needs of our diverse candidate community.

 

Degree Requirements

 

The following credits are required for each degree level:

 

Bachelor’s Degrees                                               120 credits

Master’s Degrees                                                    45 credits

Doctorate and Ph.D. Degrees                               30 credits*

*A minimum of 20 credits must be earned in the preparation and submission of a Concluding Project.

Accreditation

 

St. Thomas Aquinas University is a post-secondary institution of higher learning granting degrees and professional development training certificates in accordance with the statutes of the State of Florida . The Board of Trustees has written these standards into the university’s by-laws thus, legally, they must be strictly followed. If you are seeking a degree to meet specific requirements established by others, to comply with a regulation, or to obtain a license, the university suggests that you check with the requiring authority as to their degree and accrediting requisites. All prospective degree candidates are provided with complete and official information prior to enrollment.

Degree Granting Authority

 

St. Thomas Aquinas University is incorporated in the State of Florida as a nonprofit religious university and meets all legal requirements in regard to that incorporation. The official by-laws of the university provide authority to grant graduate and postgraduate degrees in a wide range of fields and disciplines related to religious vocations as ministers, professionals, or laypersons in the categories of ministry, counseling, theology, education, administration, music, fine arts, media communications, or social work. Degrees can be conferred worldwide. The university is exempt from state licensing due to its theocentric nature and affiliation.

Affiliation
​

St. Thomas Aquinas University is the official seminary of Christ Communion. The University and Christ Communion seek to provide a forum for education of the mind, body and spirit. While our religious degrees are specific to Christ Communion, the university never seeks to impose its beliefs on any professional development or vocational training candidate but information is available to anyone expressing interest. St. Thomas Aquinas students come from virtually every religious background as well as those who do not participate in any organized faith.

Student Records

 

The university is authorized to accept transfer credits from all accredited and select unaccredited institutions of high learning throughout the world. Upon graduation each candidate is awarded a diploma and provided with an official set of transcripts—each bearing the raised seal of the university. Additional transcripts are available from the Registrar’s Office.
